Cachorro Grande é uma banda brasileira, com influências de rock and roll, formada em 1999 na cidade de Porto Alegre, no Rio Grande do Sul.
Sua formação original teve uma mudança em 2005. Logo após a gravação do Acústico MTV Bandas Gaúchas, o baixista Jerônimo Lima, o "Bocudo", saiu da banda (formando com outros músicos a banda Locomotores) e em seu lugar entrou Rodolfo Krieger, que até então era vocalista e guitarrista da banda Os Efervescentes.
Ao lançar o terceiro disco, Pista livre, a Cachorro Grande fez com que o rock gaúcho ressurgisse na mídia nacional, com aparições em programas de televisão, como no Show da virada de 2005 para 2006 da Rede Globo; no programa Altas Horas, onde tocaram "Você Não Sabe o que Perdeu", e "Desentoa"; e em grandes eventos, entre eles o festival Claro que é Rock e a festa do VMB, da MTV, onde tocaram ao vivo Você Não Sabe o que Perdeu, além de uma turnê nacional, e um show na Argentina.
Durante alguns bons anos, a Cachorro era "proprietária" da Fun House (cujo nome foi inspirado no disco homônimo dos The Stooges), um velho casarão "mal-assombrado" ao lado do point mais cult para shows de Porto Alegre, a Garagem Hermética, e a alguns metros do Bar Bambus. Em 2006, o sucesso da banda se consolidou com a canção Sinceramente, uma balada romântica.
Em Maio de 2007, a banda lança o quarto álbum de estúdio, chamado "Todos Os Tempos" pela Deckdisc com produção de Rafael Ramos. São 12 canções e o primeiro single é "Você me Faz Continuar" que também abre o disco. Em Junho a Cachorro Grande participa juntamente com Nando Reis de um encontro no MTV Especial Estúdio Coca-Cola.
Uma nota publicada no jornal gaúcho Zero Hora revelou o próximo passo da banda Cachorro Grande. O grupo de Porto Alegre vai gravar em São Paulo o seu primeiro registro ao vivo, que deve ser lançado em CD e DVD ainda este ano.
O show, que ainda não teve data e local divulgados, terá um repertório baseado nos sucessos de todos os trabalhos do grupo. "A gente quer fazer nosso melhor show de todos os tempos", diz o vocalista Beto Bruno. Agora é só aguardar.
